UK Radon Awareness Week 1st – 7th November 2021

Properteco Are Pleased to Be Supporting the UK Radon Association’s Don’t Delay Campaign for UK Radon Awareness Week 1st – 7th November 2021

Rebecca Coates, PropertECO’s Head of Radon Projects and current Chair of the UK Radon Association said, “When research emerged stating that the lung cancer pathway – everything from diagnosis, to referral, to treatment – was one of the most affected by COVID-19, it didn’t come as a huge surprise. The cross-over of symptoms and reluctance (or inability) to see a GP face-to-face has meant the opportunity for early diagnosis of lung cancer has been hampered, with many lung cancer cases only being diagnosed at a very late stage.”

“Many non-smokers still don’t consider themselves at risk from lung cancer, and due to COVID-19 are even less likely to think a persistent cough may have such a sinister cause. That’s why we created the Don’t Delay campaign to deliver a two-pronged message.”

The Don’t Delay campaign, which includes an animated video and infographics urges people to:

  1. Visit a GP if they have possible lung cancer symptoms, including a cough that lasts more than two weeks
  2. Test their home (and workplace) for radon to check whether they are being exposed to cancer-causing levels of the gas

For one week only, PropertECO are offering a pack of two radon detectors for just £25, a reduction of over 40% on standard price.
