A list of the top 100 UK companies under three years old has just been published, and we’re delighted to announce that propertECO came in at number 35.
Launched in 2008, Startups 100 was the first index of its kind – a celebration of the best in new British businesses. Now in its fourth year, the list counts down the top 100 start-ups to have launched in the last three years.
To be considered for the list, companies must be UK based and privately owned and have launched on or after 1 January 2010. Entrants are judged by the Startups team against a host of criteria, but primarily for innovation, impressive financials and growth potential.
propertECO’s Commercial Director, Rebecca Kench says, “As a company operating in a niche field, I’m delighted that we’ve been able to claim a spot on this prestigious list. In previous years, companies featured on the list have gone on to become household names – think zoopla.com, Secret Escapes and Moshi Monsters to name a few – so to be amongst alumni of this calibre and success is a huge achievement for us. Featuring on the list should also raise the profile of radon amongst other business owners, who all have a responsibility to carry out risk assessments for their own premises.”
The 2013 Startups 100 list features 100 companies founded by 186 entrepreneurs and a range of business types from food and drink companies (the most popular industry in the index with 12 companies) to game-changing tech start-ups and is heralded to “celebrate British business diversity and brilliance.” 37 of the 100 companies were founded outside London (of which propertECO was one). Coming in at number one on the list is myParcelDelivery.com, a price-comparison site for couriers and second place went to micro-computer creators Raspberry Pi.
